I found your story while researching hypoparathyroidism for school. I graduate from college in a few days as a registered nurse. I spent a lot of time studying diseases, but I now feel more empowered with your story to stop seeing the diseases and see the patient. I never realized how young some people can be and not have a chance to be healthy and free from symptoms of diseases that people don't normally have to face until adulthood. I will hold your story in my heart and never let my heart turn to stone. I wish you and your family health and happiness. Take care!

Hey Jimmy and Liz, just wanted you to know you're not alone. My husband and I have type 1 diabetes, Addison's, hypothyroidism and I don't know why only I do, but I have candidiasis. Some days having all this is just miserable. People just don't get it why you might be tired early or only work part time, or just plain feel super funky for no reason at all. Just curious if there is anything Jimmy D can link the start of his illness to(like maybe a reason for the hypoparathyroidism?) My husband says his first autimmune illness was due to a smallpox vaccine, my type 1 diabetes showed up after have mercury fillings placed in my mouth. I know it was almost comforting to read his story, thanks for writing about it. It sound like you have a good understanding of what he feels by your descriptions. Also, my husband is 59 and has had addisons for 32 yrs, hypothyroidism for about 25 yrs and type 1 diabetes about 4 yrs. He's doing remarkable considering all this. The diabetes diagnosis about did him in though. He has been more challenged since having this. Keeping everything in balance is an incredible feat, as I'm sure you know. I' m 32. Mine started as type 1 diabetes 20 yrs ago, then thyroid, then most recently adrenals and candidiasis. No one has ever checked for hypoparathyroidism, but I did have strange calcium in my blood readings but the doc didn't persue it at the time. Hmmm... now I'm intrigued. Anyway, good luck to you both.
